Goblin’s Garden in Betty’s Bay is situated on a large stand with lawns and huge old trees, casting shade over pathways, creating a forest-like atmosphere. You almost expect goblins and fairies to come out and welcome you into their private garden!
The house can accommodate 8 persons in 3 bedrooms (1 king size, 1 double and 4 single beds), 2 bathrooms (one with bath and one with shower). It has an open plan lounge with fireplace, TV (bring own decoder and smart card for DSTV connection), bar fridge and dining area. The lounge leads out onto a large wooden veranda with views over the garden and the sea. The kitchen with scullery has a fridge/freezer, chest freezer, four plate gas stove, microwave oven, kettle, toaster, cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. The braai area is next to the house.
There is a tennis court and a naturally, dark, spring water pool, fed from a mountain stream that flows through it – frogs love it too, so don’t expect a sparkling chlorine pool! Although the area around it is fenced, guests use the pool at their own risk.
A 20-30 minute walk, or 5-7 minutes drive, to the main beach of Betty’s Bay. The property is in close proximity to Bass Lake (“Malkopsvlei”) and the Harold Porter Botanical Garden. Off-street parking. The beds have uncovered duvets and pillows. Guests may select to bring own bed linen and towels, or it can be provided at an additional charge. Two pets maximum allowed. No smoking inside the house, please.
Minimum 2 nights stay during the year and 14 nights over the Christmas/New Year period.
